My eyes were closed but scenes kept flashing before them, one after the other. Some were going by so quickly to the point where I couldn grasp the meaning of them. Only two of them flashed by slowly enough for me to understand.
I saw myself standing in a luxurious room with two other women. My hand was clamped to my mouth because one of the women had a black handgun. My heart began galloping. The woman who had the gun seemed very nervous and surprised because I wasn supposed to see it. The next thing I knew, the other woman was behind me. She used something to smack me in the head. Blood spurted from the back of my head before I collapsed to the floor.
That scene ended and another began. Before injecting a magical drug into my bloodstream, a hard-faced woman confessed that she was being paid by Duchess Marcia and Catherine, to take away my memory.
My eyes shot open. Pleasant and familiar faces greeted me.
