At midnight I was awakened by a dream where I saw a red shadowy thing that looked like a human figure heading toward the Princes room. I leaped out of the bed, tiptoed to the door, then gently turned the knob. Sneaking out, I glanced at Mom, Daniel, and Joanna who were soundly asleep.
Hurrying up the stairs, I couldn calm my heart down. It was galloping like a horse on a race track. I was so dumb to not have taken the elevator. I guessed it was because I was so accustomed to the stairs while working as a maid.
I know Catherine and Duchess Marcia is at it again with their black magic. But they said they wouldn use magic to kill the Prince. Or they just said that to throw me off track. I quickened my steps. I can let them hurt the Prince. I have to save him.
Ugh! Why am I so concerned about the Prince anyway? Ive always despised every Salumite, so how come Im falling for him? And he hates me now. I was disgusted at myself, but I couldn stop feeling the way I did about him.
Arriving at the Princes door, I noticed it was slightly open. I crept closer to it and peeked inside. My hands and feet began to tremble, and so did my lips when I saw who was in the shadowy red light. It was the Queen! She was sending some of her red light rays into the Princes body, shocking him. He groaned.
I felt sorry for him. I wanted to dash into the room and push his wicked mother away. But I wasn brave enough to go up against magic. The Queen could easily shock me to death with those magic light rays.
